What can we do from “camp’n soul”?
The most frequently asked question…
We are happy to pass on all our experiences and tips. I have described some of them below. We also offer a very extensive box with information and maps and general information about Montenegro.
There are numerous opportunities to be active throughout Montenegro. Travelers who come to Montenegro can look forward to lonely valleys, crystal-clear lakes, a picturesque coastline and a breathtaking mountain backdrop. Outdoor sports enthusiasts in particular will get their money’s worth in this often untouched nature. Hikes and bike tours start directly from our camp. In the immediate vicinity is the hiking and winter sports resort of Kolašin, which offers numerous options. A small river can be reached in 5 minutes.
The Biogradska Gora National Park can be reached in 20 minutes by car. There, Lake Biogradska, located in one of the last primeval forests, offers a unique backdrop and many opportunities to enjoy nature.
From the camp:
Hiking to the Bistrica cave
A very popular excursion destination: hiking to the cave. The river that flows past “camp’n soul” also springs from there. Bathing in the spring pool with a water temperature of 6-7 degrees is exciting and very refreshing.
Via ferrata at the Bistrica cave
At the entrance to the cave there are 2 via ferratas that are the training area of the local mountain troops. They are short, but always well maintained.
Mountain bike
Mountain bikers can start directly from the camp and reach the fascinating Sinjajevina plateau with two different climbs. A large mountain massif in the heart of Montenegro that stretches for almost 50 km between Kolašin and Žabljak. Very good fitness and experience is a prerequisite, however, as there are many pebble and scree sections. Not recommended for gravel bikes! There are also some side roads in the valley that are easy to ride.
Hiking tours
You can also reach the Sinjajevina plateau with its numerous high alpine pastures on a day hike and try products in one of Katun’s “domača”. Particularly recommended: the cheese produced on the alpine pastures.
Another way to get to the plateau is to hike over the Vratlo Pass
Bjelasica Mountains above Kolašin
A mountain road from Kolašin takes you to the ski area, which offers numerous tours for hiking or mountain biking in summer.
If you prefer it comfortable, you can use the Kolašin 1600 chairlift to get to the summit. From there you can enjoy a breathtaking mountain backdrop that is at home around Mount Bjelasica.
At its feet lies Biogradska Gora, the smallest but at the same time one of the most species-rich national parks in the country. In the 16 square kilometer primeval forest, 86 species of trees and shrubs can be found, bears and red deer are at home, and three species of trout and numerous reptiles and amphibians feel at home in the lakes.
Horse tours Bjelasica
Want to explore the area on horseback? No problem. We’ll be happy to give you the contact details. The requirements and experience of the guests are taken into account so that everyone gets their money’s worth.
Jeep tour
You can also explore the Sinjajevina plateau by jeep. Including a stop at one of the katuns (alpine farms). Starts directly from the camp.
Tito’s spectacular mountain railway – an unforgettable train ride
One of the most spectacular railway routes in the world runs from Bar to Belgrade. The Kolašin – Podgorica section is particularly worthwhile. Above the Morača Canyon, the train crosses Europe’s highest railway bridge, the Mala-Rijeka viaduct. Numerous bird’s eye views of the canyon take your breath away from time to time…very worthwhile. If you want to drive further to Bar, you can also visit the sea.
The Kolašin train station can be reached in about 15 minutes by taxi or we can organize a transfer.
Excursions to the canyons nearby
The two fascinating canyons Mrtviča and Morača can be reached by car and offer beautiful hiking routes.
